Flemish Minister for Innovation Philippe Muyters wants to encourage the Flemish bio-, nano- and med-tech sector to capture opportunities in the transformation of personalized medicine.
The potential is huge, for patients and sector alike. A total of 10 million euros has been set aside to support valuable projects.
Personalised Medicine uses new approaches to better manage patients’ health and targets therapies to achieve the best possible outcomes. New technologies such as whole genome sequencing, feature extraction from heterogeneous data sources, and unobtrusive wearables are maturing fast. And the interconnection between these innovations makes it possible to move to an era of truly personalised care.
