Call for project ideas: Healthy@Home

Healthcare at home is a technology-facilitated domain that includes the development of wearables, sensors, apps, self-testing devices, etc. for a broad number of home or patient-centered health applications (see below for more details). If you have a promising idea in the Healthy@Home field and are looking for partners, we invite you to send a short description of your project idea  to info@flanders.health by April 15, 2020.

Proposal owners will be offered the opportunity to present and discuss with potential partners during the flanders.health Pitch&Match event online on 6 May 2020.

Healthcare at home is a broad and rapidly changing field of science that is strongly technology driven. The proliferation of mobile technologies that can measure and gather a variety of data has increased public interest in using consumer electronics to take ownership of personal health and wellness. Apps, wearables, and sensors can collect, quantify, and monitor (data regarding) a user’s day-to-day behaviors; can provide timely and patient-centered care important for patients with chronic diseases; can facilitate the role of healthcare providers; and also help foster community-based independence for individuals. We're aiming for projects in the healthcare context based on wearable technologies, self-testing, physiological monitoring technologies, monitoring of patient functions and detection of emergencies, cognitive and sensor activity, disease management, assisted living, and others.

This call for ideas or project proposals, together with the Pitch&Match event on May 6, is restricted to flanders.health connect members or higher.
